ARC Greater Twin Cities - Customer Case Study

Arc Greater Twin Cities is a United Way agency that promotes and protects the rights of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the Twin Cities, supporting individuals and families to choose how they live, learn, work and play. Because nearly one-third of its revenue comes from United Way, the organization must provide detailed multi-year plans and clear annual reports on who it has served, demographics and services provided — a task that was cumbersome and time-consuming with their prior database. They needed a single system to manage donor data, track volunteers, maintain customer service, access business intelligence and deliver comprehensive reporting.

The organization implemented iMIS enterprise-wide to manage its three Value Village thrift stores, volunteer scheduling and clothing donations, automate operations, and produce detailed reports and donor communications such as thank-you letters and pledge reminders. As a result, iMIS now helps track 45,000 volunteer hours annually, improves business intelligence and customer service, frees staff from administrative busywork so they can focus on mission delivery, and boosts the efficiency of thrift stores that generate more than half of the organization’s revenue.
