The European public service television channel ARTE faced a challenge in processing approximately 500,000 images daily for its website and social media channels. After their initial tool, Thumbor, began to lose community support, they needed a new robust solution for resizing and watermarking. They turned to the vendor imgproxy and initially used its open-source version.

ARTE ultimately migrated to imgproxy Pro to meet their vital requirement for watermarking. The solution was deployed on their internal k8s cluster, providing a robust system for resizing images for various frontends and generating watermarked images for social media. As a result, imgproxy became the sole image processing solution in their infrastructure, reliably handling half a million images every day.
