A iMeet Central Case Study
The American Red Cross — San Diego/Imperial Counties chapter, which serves more than 3.25 million people across 9,000 square miles, needed to map and coordinate resources to support a goal of operating 21 shelters simultaneously and feeding 100,000 people a day. Gathering demographic data and identifying food, shelter and storage locations was manual and time-consuming, and the project involved geographically dispersed stakeholders: Red Cross staff, volunteers, Palomar College students and a professor who needed a way to communicate and track progress.
Volunteers organized a Central Desktop workspace, trained the team, and used its file, discussion and web meeting tools to centralize documents, coordinate work and hold virtual meetings instead of difficult-to-schedule in-person gatherings. The platform streamlined collaboration, saved time and resources, and helped the chapter make significant headway building resource maps and planning feeding operations as they continue toward their goal.
