Blank Rome embraces cloud strategy for connection, collaboration, and innovation

Blank Rome, an Am Law 100 firm with more than 750 attorneys across 16 offices, wanted to preserve its collaborative, startup-like culture while paving the way for innovation. To give attorneys best-in-class, flexible access and to free IT from routine maintenance so it could focus on AI and other new initiatives, the firm decided to move its document management from on‑premises systems to the iManage Cloud.

Blank Rome upgraded to iManage Work 10, partnered with Kraft Kennedy to migrate 50 million documents, and ran a focused user training program, executing a seamless weekend cutover. The cloud deployment—integrated with Microsoft Office and planned for Teams—delivered co‑authoring, mobile access, Closing Folders, Threat Manager, and Records Manager, retired 25 servers and 20 TB of storage, boosted technical agility and productivity, and freed IT to concentrate on future growth and AI pilots.
