Making Image Content Searchable By Auto Assigning Consistent Keywords In DAM

FotoWare, a Norwegian digital asset management (DAM) company serving 10K+ users and 4K+ customers, struggled with consistently populating collections with descriptive keywords to make images, videos and graphics searchable. To improve discoverability and simplify metadata creation across both cloud and on‑premise deployments, FotoWare selected Imagga’s image‑recognition API for automatic tagging and image cropping.

Imagga’s API was integrated to provide scalable, consumption‑based automatic tagging with adjustable confidence levels and a low implementation threshold; FotoWare launched automatic tagging first and added automatic cropping shortly after. The Imagga integration enabled customers to auto‑tag and crop rapidly growing image collections since 2017, produced immediate adoption (feature usage appeared days after release versus months for typical on‑premise updates), and now includes the ability to train the API for even better accuracy.
