Yorkshire and North East Film Archives in Award winning form with Imagen

Yorkshire & North East Film Archives, a registered charity preserving 130 years of moving-image heritage across the region, struggled with resource-heavy, manual processes that limited how many production companies, researchers and the public they could serve. To modernize access while preserving rights-sensitive workflows and human curation, they partnered with Reuters Imagen and implemented an Imagen Pro-powered video management platform.

Reuters Imagen built and launched the archive’s new site (www.yfanefa.com) and Imagen Pro workflows, allowing registered professionals to search, create collections and request footage while the archive maintains curator-led support. The change sped up delivery dramatically (finding and sending content that once took five hours now takes five minutes; Relton notes sending 15 screeners in five minutes), increased sales, expanded community engagement and enabled the archive to service many more requests.
