World Aquatics Making Waves With Athletegenerated Content

Fédération Internationale de Natation (formerly known as FINA), the global governing body for aquatic sports representing 209 National Member Federations, faced a lack of athlete-centered digital strategy and no reliable way to deliver timely content to athletes, federations and media — limiting reach and creating rights-management challenges. To address this, the organisation turned to Reuters Imagen and its Imagen media-asset-management platform to reinvent how content is created, accessed and distributed.

Reuters Imagen implemented a reworked Imagen platform that lets athletes access official photos and videos (and contribute athlete-generated content) while enabling tighter rights control and faster distribution. The partnership reshaped workflows so videos and photos are now sent across national federations, athletes, coaches, media and broadcasters, driving increased engagement, reach and awareness for World Aquatics events and allowing near-real-time social sharing.
