US Federal Agency worked with Illusive to improve defense against targeted attackers and strengthen insider threat detection in support of the U.S. National Insider Threat Policy. During a required three-month Red Team exercise, the agency needed a way to validate cyber readiness and detect credential abuse early, even in a STIG-hardened environment.

Illusive deployed easily and used its Attack Detection System to identify deceptive credential access, including cases where LAN Turtle devices were physically connected to a machine to harvest credentials. The Red Team then tried to use those credentials elsewhere in the network, but Illusive alerted on every instance of deceptive credential use, helping defenders shut down systems quickly and expose the attackers 32 times.
