NIBE Group, a global manufacturer of energy‑efficient heating and climate solutions with 140+ independent companies and 20,000 employees across 30 countries, faced a complex IT/OT environment after consolidating applications onto a group network. Lacking visibility and segmentation, the company risked lateral movement from breaches and ransomware across businesses, contractors and departments, and needed least‑privilege access controls and granular microsegmentation.

NIBE deployed Illumio Core (and later Illumio Endpoint) to map traffic flows, enforce Zero Trust Segmentation and microsegment more than 500 applications and, ultimately, 6,000 endpoints. The platform delivered clear network visibility, faster troubleshooting and automated blocking of unnecessary connections, enabling 90–95% enforcement across the estate within six months and giving NIBE greater cyber resilience, agility and scalable protection for future migrations.
