String Theory Charter School boosts lighting levels 74% with IKIO

String Theory Charter School, a Pennsylvania-based institution, needed to modernize its educational spaces. The school was facing challenges with its outdated fluorescent lighting, which caused glare, uneven brightness, and high maintenance demands. This negatively affected classroom ambience and operational efficiency. To address this, the school partnered with lighting vendor IKIO for a complete LED retrofit.

IKIO implemented an end-to-end lighting solution that included high-CRI, glare-free panels for classrooms, motion-controlled lights for corridors, and durable fixtures throughout. This upgrade resulted in a 74% improvement in lighting levels and significant operational savings. The project delivered annual energy savings of 151,718 kWh and cost savings of over $11,151, while also drastically reducing maintenance needs for the school.
