Moorhead Area Public Schools – ISD 152 sought to modernize its lighting infrastructure across classrooms, administrative offices, corridors, and gymnasiums to enhance its supportive learning environments and improve operational performance. The district partnered with vendor IKIO for an end-to-end modernization to address issues like glare, flicker, and high maintenance from outdated fluorescent and HID systems.

IKIO implemented a comprehensive smart LED solution, utilizing high-CRI architectural troffers, specialized indoor sports high bays, and an integrated Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless control system. This resulted in a 77% improvement in lighting levels, annual energy savings of 921,373 kWh, and over $67,720 in cost savings. IKIO's solution also commissioned 3,470 fixtures, creating a unified and efficient lighting system that reduced maintenance and supported the district's long-term goals.
