City of Waterville cuts lighting energy use by 60,249+ kWh with IKIO

The City of Waterville, Maine, faced significant inefficiencies and safety concerns due to outdated fluorescent lighting systems in its City Hall and Police Station. The legacy fixtures caused high energy consumption, visual discomfort for staff and visitors, and poor illumination in critical areas. To address these challenges, the city partnered with vendor IKIO for a comprehensive LED lighting retrofit solution.

IKIO implemented a performance-driven retrofit, engineering task-specific LED solutions including architectural troffers, linear pendants, and vapor-tight fixtures. This approach delivered substantial results: over 60,249 kWh in annual energy savings and $4,428 in cost savings. The project also achieved a 66.6% improvement in lighting levels, enhancing safety, staff productivity, and operational efficiency for the City of Waterville.
