The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) sought to prepare students in its new Sport Management program with the practical soft skills needed to launch careers in the sports industry, a gap it identified in traditional sports academia. To bridge this gap and provide an engaging curriculum, UMSL partnered with iHire and implemented its Sports Career Game Plan product.
iHire's Sports Career Game Plan online course provided students with strategies for networking, resume writing, and interviewing. The solution was integrated into the curriculum, accounting for 10% of a student's grade. The results were significant: 74% of students earned sports internships, totaling over 3,500 hours, 20+ internship offers, and 25+ job interviews within the program's first three semesters.
