UCB cuts process transformation from 18 months to 7 with iGrafx

UCB, a multinational pharmaceutical company, faced a significant challenge in restructuring and automating its supply chain master data management processes, which were running on a soon-to-be-retired SharePoint Workflow Engine. With an 18-month deadline to remodel and automate 40 complex processes to ensure the timely launch of a critical new drug, the timeline was suddenly cut to just 7 months. UCB partnered with vendor iGrafx to model processes in BPMN and implement a new automation solution.

Using iGrafx for process modeling, repository, and automation, UCB orchestrated bots, workflows, and employees through smart forms integrated with ERP systems. The solution was implemented on time, preventing an estimated €1 million per day in potential losses. The success led to program expansion; by 2023, iGrafx was used by 500 employees across 50 processes, resulting in annual savings of 120 person-days and significantly improved process agility.
