Case Study: Kitasato University Hospital achieves safer, more efficient new-hospital operations with iGrafx Platform

Kitasato University faced the challenge of opening a restructured, advanced university hospital while standardizing processes to improve patient safety and ensure a smooth transfer of operations. Lacking experience and tools to visualize workflows, the hospital needed to create clear operational flow charts and manuals to reduce risk and support continuous improvement — and partnered with iGrafx, using the iGrafx Platform and consulting services to get started.

iGrafx implemented a five-step program — consulting on visualization techniques, documenting old and new hospital operations, supporting a pre-opening dress rehearsal, and training staff on the iGrafx Platform for creating and sharing flow charts and manuals. As a result, iGrafx helped Kitasato University build a common communication infrastructure, identify and mitigate potential risks, increase employee understanding and engagement, and improve operational efficiencies, enabling the new hospital to begin operations smoothly without inconveniencing patients.
