A iGrafx Case Study
Potton Homes, a long-established UK timber‑frame manufacturer known for bespoke, high‑quality kits, was struggling to maintain consistent quality and spot inefficiencies as the business grew. With hundreds of configurable product options and quality accreditations (ISO 9001 and Q‑Mark Plus) to uphold, many processes were held tacitly by teams rather than documented centrally, making it hard to get a holistic view. To address this, Potton Homes selected the iGrafx Platform to capture and standardize its processes.
Using iGrafx, Potton Homes mapped more than 70 end‑to‑end processes, trained staff on the platform, and published interactive maps to the company intranet, creating a paperless quality management system. The iGrafx implementation enabled process redesign (including parallelization and reordered steps), faster, less political decision‑making, and clearer staff responsibilities — reducing lead time from 20 weeks to 12 weeks and driving ongoing efficiency while maintaining quality.
