iGrafx enables the Hampshire Constabulary to quickly and easily identify areas for process improvement

Hampshire Constabulary, a force of around 4,000 officers serving more than 1.8 million people, needed to standardize and improve processes across headquarters, departments and Operational Command Units as part of its Business Improvement Plan. After the end of mandated Best Value Reviews, the force launched a long-term initiative to map, review and improve key processes and deployed iGrafx products—iGrafx FlowCharter and iGrafx Process Central—to document and manage that work.

Using iGrafx FlowCharter the Business Improvement team quickly mapped some 50–60 headline processes to level three and used simulation to test changes; iGrafx Process Central made all maps and updates accessible force-wide. This approach, part of a two-year “Process Excellence” project, delivered measurable results—most notably a 75% reduction in the number of detainees needing transfer between custody centres—and reduced duplication, increased visibility and sped implementation of process revisions across Hampshire Constabulary.
