To tackle these issues, Macy’s partnered with Ignite Technologies and deployed Ignite Technologies’ MyAlerts alerting solution to add price-drop alerts and in-app wish list personalization.

Ignite Technologies implemented price-drop alerts tied to wish lists and re-engaged shoppers via the Macy’s app and email. The program drove customers to add 10× more products to wish lists (about 30 items on average), captured $774 million in future purchase intent, returned top customers up to 30× per month via alerts, increased wish list adoption, and generated favorable Macy’s app reviews highlighting the alert functionality.
