Hornbach handles 45,000 contactless pickups with Igloohome

Hornbach, Germany's leading DIY chain store, faced challenges with its in-store pickup process, which was limited to business hours and required significant employee time to locate orders. To address these inefficiencies and provide a contactless solution, Hornbach partnered with Igloohome to implement its smart padlocks.

Igloohome deployed over 2000 padlocks integrated into Hornbach's system via a custom APK on Zebra devices, enabling employees to log orders into secure lockers and generate time-sensitive PIN codes for customers. This solution allowed for convenient, out-of-hours, contactless pickups. The results were significant, with over 45,000 pickups handling €2.5 million in orders, freeing up manpower and greatly improving the customer experience.
