Verdun Saint Mihiel Hospital - Customer Case Study

Verdun Saint Mihiel Hospital needed to virtualize applications for patient records and administration to cut maintenance costs and meet healthcare-specific requirements such as reading the Carte Vitale health insurance card. The hospital selected IGEL and its thin-client technology—deploying IGEL UD3-LX thin clients alongside the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS)—because the vendor’s solution was tailor-made for healthcare and easy to manage.

IGEL deployed 80 UD3-LX thin clients with UMS to centrally manage devices, push automatic updates, and ensure compatibility with medical peripherals like Carte Vitale readers. The IGEL solution simplified administration, sped up operations versus the previous terminals, centralized patient data to reduce confidentiality risk, and delivered measurable efficiency improvements and direct and indirect cost savings across the hospital’s workstations.
