Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union - Customer Case Study

Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, a Texas-based financial cooperative with more than 55 branches, needed a more powerful endpoint computing solution to deliver e-mail and core financial applications over its Citrix-based infrastructure after its legacy devices could no longer meet performance requirements. After evaluating vendors, the credit union selected IGEL and its endpoint portfolio, including IGEL Universal Desktop thin clients (UD3/UD5) and the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS).

IGEL deployed UD3 units initially and later moved to higher‑performance UD5 thin clients managed via UMS, which delivered faster boot times, better application performance and much simpler device management. The result was a measurable improvement in end‑user experience and IT efficiency, a deployment that grew from about 300 IGEL devices to more than four times that number, reliable peripheral support for tellers (receipt printers, signature pads), and a custom IGEL solution to share Topaz signature pads across the WAN.
