A IGEL Case Study
Private Investment Firm faced a rapid shift to remote work as it prepared to relocate its headquarters and then accelerated that plan when COVID-19 hit, leaving many executives working from home and requiring secure, easy-to-manage access to corporate workspaces. To meet this need the firm selected IGEL and Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD), aiming to avoid desktop-level OS complexity while enabling secure, remote access for leaders and staff.
IGEL delivered IGEL OS, the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) and IGEL UD3/UD7 endpoints integrated with Microsoft WVD, enabling fast deployment of cloud workspaces and centralized management. The result: the firm moved nearly all staff to remote work almost immediately, with about 60 employees using IGEL OS to access WVD via laptops, desktops and IGEL hardware, executives set up with multi-monitor UD7 stations, and improved security, seamless user experience and simpler administration via IGEL UMS over Cisco Meraki SD‑WAN.
