Case Study: OneBlood achieves secure, cost-saving endpoint modernization with IGEL

A IGEL Case Study

Preview of the OneBlood Case Study

OneBlood - Customer Case Study

OneBlood, the not‑for‑profit Florida blood bank serving 250+ hospitals and more than 3,000 employees, faced a pressing endpoint challenge: roughly 1,150 aging HP T610 thin clients running Windows 7 were nearing end‑of‑support while the organization needed to migrate to Windows 10 and Citrix VDI and continue supporting 143 critical apps (including barcode printing and scanning) without a six‑figure hardware refresh. OneBlood turned to IGEL to modernize its endpoint estate quickly and cost‑effectively.

IGEL converted existing devices to IGEL OS and deployed IGEL Universal Management Suite (with UD Pocket and a few UD3 units), integrating Citrix Workspace and PrinterLogic for serverless, secure printing. The rollout converted nearly one‑third of endpoints in the first four months, delivered estimated capex savings of about $300,000, simplified management and updates, and improved barcode/label printing and overall productivity (especially during COVID‑19), demonstrating IGEL’s impact on security, cost and operational efficiency.
