A IGEL Case Study

Preview of the Kansas Development Finance Authority Case Study

Kansas Development Finance Authority - Customer Case Study

The Kansas Development Finance Authority (KDFA), a small statewide finance agency headquartered in Topeka, struggled when its existing zero‑client endpoints could not support new Citrix VDI features and firmware updates were delayed by its former vendor. Seeking better compatibility and easier endpoint management, KDFA turned to IGEL and evaluated IGEL’s Universal Desktop (UD6 LX) thin clients and the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) software.

IGEL delivered a solution of 12 UD6 thin clients managed via IGEL UMS, providing day‑one compatibility with Citrix, timely product updates, and built‑in audio/video performance. The deployment (nine desktop units, one guest kiosk, one boardroom unit, one backup) restored VDI productivity, reduced endpoint maintenance overhead for IT, and gave KDFA immediate access to the latest Citrix releases — outcomes KDFA credits to IGEL’s management features and rapid update cadence.
