A IGEL Case Study
Standard Life (part of Phoenix Group) needed to enable 4,500 staff to work from home rapidly during the COVID-19 crisis. The challenge was to deploy a standard, secure endpoint that was easy for employees to set up while managing build, security and application delivery at scale; they engaged IGEL and its products (IGEL OS, IGEL Cloud Gateway, IGEL Universal Management Suite, IGEL UD Pocket and Citrix Workspace) to meet this need.
IGEL converted idle Dell PCs and laptops into locked-down endpoints, delivered an “Office in a Box” kit and used IGEL Cloud Gateway and UMS to centrally manage devices not on the corporate network. The rollout was completed in weeks (a two-year program compressed into weeks), enabled all 4,500 staff to work from home, avoided buying new hardware, reduced OPEX (desktops can be reflashed in about five minutes) and kept customer service levels intact. IGEL’s solution provided simple setup, secure access to Citrix Workspace and ongoing manageability.
