A IGEL Case Study
Hanze University was struggling to prepare Windows desktop PCs for secure digital exams: converting each classroom to an isolated exam environment and restoring it afterward could take up to a day, limiting room availability and straining IT. IGEL proposed its UD Pocket (with IGEL Universal Desktop and IGEL Universal Management Suite) to provide a fast, secure way to boot existing PCs into a controlled exam environment.
Hanze purchased 250 IGEL UD Pockets and now boots desktops into the IGEL environment on demand, managed via the IGEL UMS. The change delivered roughly an 80% time saving (setup/restore reduced from about six hours to under one), added about four usable classroom hours per exam, reduced IT workload, improved exam security and flexibility, and supported the university’s expansion of digital exams.
