Case Study: A2U restores hospital finance operations and preserves data integrity with IGEL UD Pocket

A IGEL Case Study

Preview of the A2U Case Study

A2U - Customer Case Study

A2U, a national IT services provider specializing in healthcare, faced a critical incident when malware rapidly infected a regional hospital’s network and crippled a few hundred PCs, including 30 mission‑critical finance endpoints. To avoid wiping machines and preserve data integrity under HIPAA constraints, A2U relied on IGEL technology — primarily the IGEL UD Pocket and IGEL OS (with the IGEL Universal Desktop Converter available as a follow-on solution).

By plugging the IGEL UD Pocket into affected systems and booting into IGEL OS, A2U bypassed local drives and had the entire finance department back online within hours, enabling billing to resume the next day while maintaining on‑device data. IGEL’s solution delivered quick time‑to‑value and business continuity, prompting the hospital to standardize endpoints on IGEL’s Linux‑based platform and expand use of the UD Pocket and UDC alongside Citrix VDI.
