A IFS Case Study
A top-10 U.S. independent oil and gas producer needed to add natural gas liquid (NGL) accounting for more than 1,000 gas wells and asked its production accounting team to generate gross and net barrels of oil equivalent (daily and monthly, by well) with component breakdowns (condensate, ethane, propane, iso‑butane, normal butane, natural gasoline). Management required the new process to be fully operational on live production data within 90 days.
IFS Merrick implemented a workflow that used field measurement data (gas samples, inlet meters, theoretical meters) to automatically compute NGL components and allocations, delivering the functionality in one week and allowing the operator to test and deploy the solution a month ahead of schedule. The result: faster, more accurate revenue accrual forecasting and volume reconciliation for regulatory reporting, improving overall business performance.
