Spice specialist AVO-Werke optimises asset management and audit processes with IFS Ultimo

AVO-Werke, a market-leading European spice specialist producing roughly 50,000 tonnes annually across a portfolio of about 8,000 products, found its legacy EAM system unable to support essential maintenance, spare‑parts visibility, mobile working or efficient audit processes at its manufacturing sites. The technical department and shift supervisors needed a modern, easy-to-use solution to manage orders, documentation and inventory without relying on spreadsheets and paper.

In 2020 AVO implemented IFS Ultimo, working with consultants to tailor the platform and adopting the Ultimo Go+ mobile app and Self Service for supervisors. The result is streamlined, largely paperless maintenance workflows with real‑time spare‑parts visibility, better cost control, faster audits, reduced downtime and fewer manual steps and phone calls — improvements AVO plans to extend to its new central warehouse.
