A IFS Case Study
Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji w m.st. Warszawie S.A. (MPWiK) supplies water to Warsaw via networks of about 3,400 km of water mains and 3,200 km of sewers, delivering some 300 million litres daily and operating a large fleet and equipment base (≈400 vehicles, 900 technical units). Its legacy 1990s enterprise system was fragmented and unstable, lacking module integration and real‑time access, which hampered reporting, control and continuity of service.
To address this, MPWiK implemented IFS (Financials, Distribution and later Maintenance) in 2012–2013 and integrated it with GPS fleet monitoring. The solution centralized data, automated transport orders (eliminating tens of thousands of paper waybills), improved maintenance scheduling, upgraded hardware and reduced IT and operating costs — giving managers real‑time visibility and more efficient fleet and service management.
