Mitec helps Volac implement IFS to gain greater flexibility and build strong customer relationships

Volac, a privately owned high‑performance nutrition manufacturer near Cambridge with over 320 employees and around £200m turnover, needed to replace multiple legacy systems to gain reliable, real‑time information access, greater flexibility and stronger supplier and customer relationships. A key challenge was the Sleaford production plant, which had minimal IFS usage, duplicated processes and poor production and supply‑chain visibility, so Volac engaged expert help to extract the full value from IFS.

Volac implemented a core IFS solution with IFS UK and then engaged IFS partner Mitec to run a full roll‑out at Sleaford; Mitec provided industry‑specific consultancy, process mapping and hands‑on support to achieve a successful go‑live. The outcome was real‑time dispatch, production and inventory visibility, a seamless end‑to‑end supply chain, a 100% increase in productivity visibility, higher user engagement, lower production costs and further plans to expand IFS and explore cloud capabilities.
