IFS enables Moelven to let customer demand shape the company

Moelven Industrier ASA is one of Scandinavia’s leading distributors of building materials, operating 45 units across Norway, Sweden and Denmark with over 3,500 employees. Since implementing IFS as its ERP platform in 2001, Moelven needed better control of complex manufacturing and distribution across more than 40 companies—supporting custom orders, electronic ordering and invoicing, faster deliveries and scalable growth without increasing order‑desk staff.

Working with IFS, Moelven deployed a modified handheld warehouse solution (IFS Warehouse Data Collection™), industry‑standard master data (NOBB/FINFO/TUN), EDI support (Edifact/NeB) and IFS Lobby monitoring to automate picking, reservations and electronic packing slips. The result: over a million order lines processed annually, goods‑receipt times cut from about 45 minutes to a few minutes, guaranteed 48‑hour standard deliveries (2–3 days nationwide), improved distribution efficiency and the ability to handle significant growth without growing the order department.
