Case Study: Banss GmbH achieves greater transparency and faster project throughput with IFS

A IFS Case Study

Preview of the Banss GmbH Case Study

Fitness course for global competitiveness

Banss Schlacht- und Fördertechnik GmbH is a 135‑year‑old German manufacturer of slaughtering and meat‑processing and refrigerated transport equipment, with around 190 employees and roughly 90% of sales exported worldwide. To remain competitive internationally, Banss needed to replace a patchwork of standalone legacy systems that created information gaps and limited cost transparency across complex, project‑based engineering and manufacturing processes.

Banss implemented the IFS integrated ERP suite (engineering, manufacturing, distribution, project and document management), migrated data and linked its Euclid CAD to automate project structures. The rollout—which increased ERP users by 75 and is maintained by two IT staff—delivered a consolidated database, end‑to‑end process integration, shorter throughput times, elimination of duplicated manual flows and the ability to handle higher project volumes with the same team, all completed on budget and enabling further optimization plans.
