BW Offshore optimizes operational efficiency with IFS

BW Offshore, a leading provider of floating production services operating 15 FPSO units across Asia Pacific, the Americas, Europe and West Africa, needed a global ERP that could support complex, high-value projects across 13 countries and 70 companies. With IFS Applications 8 nearing end-of-life, thousands of suppliers, 1800 users and strict on/offshore data replication needs, the company faced the challenge of upgrading without disrupting operations while also reducing heavy customizations and improving project control.

BW Offshore upgraded to IFS Applications 10 across replicated on- and offshore environments, using an IFS update adapter to phase the rollout over 4–5 months and keep replication stable. The result: all 16 locations now run Applications 10, customizations were cut from 63 to 23, visibility and project control improved, integration via RESTful APIs is easier, and the new UI and functional enhancements reduced operational cost, increased efficiency and maximized uptime.
