Bristol Port Company improves safety and engineering management with IFS Ultimo

The Bristol Port Company, a centrally located UK deep-seaport handling millions of tonnes of cargo and supporting thousands of jobs, faced fragmented asset management, over 50 separate databases and spreadsheets, and an outdated Permits to Work process that made hazardous work hard to visualize and deconflict. The port needed standardization, better safety controls and clearer data to support business decisions.

Starting in 2021 the port implemented the IFS Ultimo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution with implementation partner DNASTREAM, consolidating maintenance, asset, HSE and work‑order processes and integrating with Power BI. The result is a centralized, future‑proof EAM with improved PTW visibility, reduced complexity, time and cost efficiencies, stronger safety controls and higher-quality data to drive better business decisions, with financial system integration and further training planned.
