BEWI RAW, part of the global BEWI group, runs a 24/7 polystyrene bead manufacturing site in Porvoo, Finland where uptime is critical. The plant relied on paper-based maintenance records and an old, discontinued system, which left limited visibility into asset health, no clear preventive schedules and slow operator–maintenance communication — problems that once led to a machine breakdown and a costly production stoppage.

BEWI RAW implemented cloud-based IFS Ultimo (maintenance and HSE modules) in a staged rollout, digitizing asset records, enabling operators to raise tickets remotely and giving maintenance teams real-time prioritization. The result is a clear plan for critical maintenance, centralized documentation accessible from office or shop floor, simpler reporting and reduced administrative burden, with improved proactivity and ongoing module adoption toward full use.
