Babcock Energy & Marine, part of Babcock International, delivers and maintains highly complex naval and energy assets across four major UK sites with some 12,000 engineers. Facing the challenge of coordinating large, multi‑year programs (for example splitting a 65,000‑tonne aircraft carrier build into almost 500 projects) and meeting strict compliance and reporting needs, the business required a single, flexible system to manage projects, maintenance and operational data.

Over two decades Babcock has rolled out IFS as a full ERP across its defence and marine operations (now using about 90% of the suite), enabling project-based costing, maintenance management, SFG20 benchmarking and intuitive role‑based dashboards (Lobbies). The result: over 4,630 projects completed using IFS, clear single-source project visibility for staff and customers, faster prioritisation through visual dashboards, improved reporting and compliance, and productivity gains from mobile work orders and real‑time data.
