Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Asia’s largest aerospace company, needed to standardize and streamline operations across multiple divisions to contain costs, improve quality and collaboration, and optimize materials, production, finance, HR and maintenance processes. To gain competitive advantage domestically and internationally, HAL launched an ERP initiative to unify processes “shop floor to top floor.”
After evaluating vendors HAL selected IFS for its aerospace expertise and implemented the suite in a phased rollout with a dedicated project team; IFS is now live in 10 divisions with more than 5,000 users (rising toward 9,000 when fully rolled out). The solution delivered greater operational visibility, improved material planning and pricing control, reduced inventory and cycle times, enhanced MRO and production efficiency, and increased productivity, enabling HAL to explore CRM, SCM and business performance tools next.
