Case Study: Armstrong International achieves unified global operations and real-time order management with IFS

A IFS Case Study

Preview of the Armstrong International Case Study

Armstrong International reduces inventory, increases efficiency by achieving global ERP with IFS

Armstrong International, a fifth‑generation thermal utility partner founded in 1900, faced fragmented operations in 2008 with four different ERP/MRP systems, no shared data, and complex make‑to‑order/make‑to‑stock supply flows across multiple countries. The company also needed multi‑currency and multi‑language support and was at risk from a looming wave of retirements that threatened to remove critical order‑entry expertise and disrupt global operations.

Armstrong selected IFS as its unified ERP and, over time, built the Armstrong Business Suite with a single IFS instance covering North America, Europe, China, Korea and India. IFS became the anchor for Order‑to‑Cash and Procure‑to‑Pay, centralizing order management and master data, delivering accurate real‑time information, consolidated financials, faster customer responsiveness, and profitable new service models — while helping sustain operations through significant staff attrition. The company is now evaluating a move to IFS Cloud to further scale and modernize its environment.
