Case Study: Alumetal Group achieves streamlined operations and real-time cost control with IFS

A IFS Case Study

Alumetal Group increases efficiency with IFS

Alumetal Group is a leading Central European producer of aluminium casting alloys, operating multiple companies and four production plants in Poland with about 530 employees and the capacity to process roughly 180,000 tons of scrap metal per year. The Group lacked an integrated IT system—relying on DOS-based tools and worksheets—which made production, logistics, cost planning and reporting slow and inefficient, so it sought an ERP solution to modernize operations and improve competitiveness.

Alumetal implemented the IFS ERP suite (finance, distribution, production, maintenance, HR/payroll) and integrated it with spectrometers and weighing systems to automate alloy analysis and raw-material selection; the system went live in early 2012 and is used by around 180 people. The result was streamlined processes, real-time access to business data, better cost control, improved purchasing and logistics efficiency, faster reporting and higher productivity, boosting the Group’s operational competitiveness.
