The Southern African Customs Union (SACU), the world's oldest customs union, faced significant inefficiencies in its financial planning. IDU implemented its financial planning and analysis (FP&A) solution to automate SACU's workflows. This provided an intuitive, web-based interface for budget holders, fostering direct involvement and stronger ownership. The solution significantly shortened budgeting cycles and freed the finance team from manual tasks, allowing them to focus on strategic analysis. Reporting to member states became more detailed, data-driven, and transparent, strengthening overall accountability.
