The Chiefs, a professional Super Rugby team based in Hamilton, New Zealand, faced a fragmented budgeting process across geographically dispersed cost centres and four business entities. Sports Shared Services implemented IDU’s idu-Concept Budgeting and Reporting modules in 2012 to address lack of financial training among budget owners, low buy-in, and differing reporting needs across stadium, catering, academy, marketing and finance teams.

IDU’s web-based idu-Concept gave non-financial users easy online and mobile access, a consolidated budgeting and reporting platform for all four entities, and centralized process management. As a result, budgets are prepared much faster, report circulation is quicker, managers take greater ownership of financial performance, and budgeting cycles have been reduced from months to weeks, delivering clear time savings and improved financial visibility.
