IDU delivers inclusive, accurate budgets at Kargo Group

Kargo, an express road freight group operating multiple companies and nine branches across South Africa, faced a time-consuming, error-prone budgeting process built on Excel spreadsheets that circulated between branch managers and finance. To address this, Kargo implemented the IDU Budgeting and Reporting Modules (idu-Concept) in 2015 to replace fragmented spreadsheets and centralize budgeting.

IDU delivered a web-based solution that allows simultaneous multi-user access, a single version of the truth, live Actuals vs Budget with variance indicators and historical comparisons. The implementation reduced the burden on finance, drastically cut the time to complete budgets (vendor claims of shortening cycles from months to weeks), and delivered more accurate, up-to-date budgets—Kargo rates IDU highly (overall 5/5; likelihood to recommend 10/10).
