Corobrik, the largest manufacturer, distributor and exporter of bricks in Africa with 15 factories and a nationwide distribution network, faced a cumbersome spreadsheet-based, top-down budgeting process that could not handle the company’s many factories, regions, products and sales representatives. To modernize and add flexibility to its planning, Corobrik engaged IDU and implemented the idu-Concept budgeting and sales planning solution.

IDU deployed the web-based idu-Concept Sales Planning and Reporting modules, enabling bottom-up budgeting by representative and product, multiple summary levels, and version-controlled budgets and forecasts. The solution cut Corobrik’s sales budget capture time to about a week, automatically calculates sales revenue, cost of sales and transport, improves capacity planning across 15 factories, and better accommodates regional and seasonal variation.
