Chevrolet, a division of General Motors, needed a fast, accurate, and portable way to collect basic marketing data from thousands of potential customers in public spaces. The company wanted to capture ID details plus contact information and answers to a few simple survey questions, while keeping the process easy for interviewers and minimizing training time. Chevrolet selected IDScan.net for a custom tablet-based data collection solution.

IDScan.net built a scanning application that let interviewers swipe or scan a driver’s license or government ID to auto-populate fields such as name, address, birthdate, email, and phone number, with manual entry available when needed. Chevrolet then collected survey responses through simple multiple-choice buttons, and the data was exported to Excel for later upload into its database. The result was easy, simple, fast, and accurate data collection with portability, flexibility, and usable reporting.
