A IDRICA Case Study

Preview of the Global Omnium Case Study

Global Omnium saves 0.5 hm3 of water per year with IDRICA

Global Omnium, the water utility for the city of Gandia, faced the challenge of modernizing its aging infrastructure to reduce non-revenue water, improve efficiency, and meet growing consumer and governmental demands for accountability. To drive this digital transformation, they partnered with vendor IDRICA and implemented its GoAigua technological solutions, including sensor deployment, big data platforms, and smart metering.

IDRICA's solution involved subdividing the network into district metered areas (DMAs), deploying advanced sensors and NB-IoT smart meters, and utilizing the GoAigua platform for data integration and analysis. This enabled real-time monitoring and leak detection. The results were significant: IDRICA's system now detects an average of 150 leaks per month, saves 0.5 hm³ of water per year, and has identified over 250 leaks annually in the supply networks, drastically improving efficiency and service for the city.
