Torfaen Borough County Council Address data matching solution helps protect the vulnerable

Torfaen County Borough Council needed a reliable way to identify every vulnerable resident across the borough during the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing together information from multiple sources so that no one who needed help would be missed. To solve this challenge, the council used Idox’s Aligned Assets address data matching solution and its Vulnerable Persons Database, built around Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs).

Idox enabled Torfaen County Borough Council to match and overlay data from social services, home adaptations, Meals on Wheels, home care, oxygen deliveries, dialysis, shielding records, and school pupil data. The result was a comprehensive 360-degree view of vulnerable residents, faster prioritization of services, and support ranging from prescription collection to dog walking; the council also improved operational planning such as gritting routes and PCR test distribution, while saving huge amounts of staff time.
