Driving collaboration and supporting multi-million document migration

Basin Electric Power Cooperative, a consumer-owned wholesale power generator and transmitter serving rural electric cooperatives across nine U.S. states, needed a new document management solution after its previous supplier planned to end support for the existing system. As an AutoCAD-based business with operations across multiple states, it required a highly configurable platform that could handle different numbering systems, workflows, and secure access needs.

Idox implemented a flexible, secure engineering information management system that went live in March 2018, enabling collaborative file sharing, concurrent access, and configurable document lifecycles across Basin Electric’s facilities. Idox supported the migration of more than one million documents, including about 500,000 active files, helping Basin Electric improve accuracy, reduce errors, speed up reviews and drawings, and keep projects on schedule with significant time savings.
