Accurate property classification with Idox’s Aligned Assets LLPG

Adur and Worthing Councils needed a better way to keep property-use records accurate across multiple systems, as manual cross-referencing was causing data errors, missed changes of use, and potential impacts on billing, inspections, and resident safety. To address this, they worked with Idox using its Aligned Assets LLPG gazetteer and address data solutions.

Idox implemented strategic links between the councils’ internal systems and the LLPG, using UPRNs to automate cross-references and keep Council Tax, Business Rates, Electoral Registration, and Environmental Health data aligned. The result was a fully automated process that reduced the LLPG Custodian’s workload from six to eight hours a week to about one hour, while improving billing accuracy, revenue protection, and the sharing of critical inspection and safety information.
