Newhouse is a domestic violence shelter in Kansas City, MO, whose mission is to help individuals and families break the cycle of abuse and achieve self-sufficiency. During COVID-19 stay-at-home orders demand for services surged and Newhouse needed a way to replace their in-person fundraising luncheon and quickly scale digital giving, so they partnered with iDonate and its peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising tools.

iDonate’s P2P function let Newhouse launch a campaign landing page with a goal meter, donor listing, corporate sponsorship placements and a virtual “wear purple” event to drive social sharing. The result: March and April became their largest digital fundraising months, with March online revenue more than doubling December 2019 totals, providing critical funds to meet increased community needs.
